Grimm Gestalt
Grimm Gestalt is a reimagined collaborative showcase of stories from the Brothers Grimm by the Design Studio course at Utah Valley University in 2020. Designers were assigned a set of fonts, colors, as well as photography and illustrations from students to fully realize the stories within. Gestalt is the German word for ‘an organized whole that is perceived as more than the sum of it's parts’ and encompassed our efforts as a team. Working alongside Gary Hatch, a fellow student in the course, we were assigned a style characterized by a unique gothic typeface and difficult pairing of brown and blue swatches.
UVU Art Show & Accolades
Grimm Gestalt received an award of merit in the AIGA 100 Show and was professionally presented by Utah Valley University in an art show on campus. The showcase displayed the spreads our Design Studio class created alongside the individual illustrations and photography other departments developed for the publication.
